Testing Overview

The Maxi-Bolt anchor has been rigorously tested. Well over 1,000 individual tests of different types have been performed and are cataloged here. The types of tests fall into two broad categories:

Static Tests which include

  • Tension,
  • Shear,
  • Combined Tension and Shear,
  • Static Tests of A36 and Stainless Steel Maxi-Bolts (which are available in addition to the standard A193 Grade B7 Maxi-Bolt),
  • Reduced Edge Distance Tension and Shear,
  • Reduced Embedment Tension and Shear and,
  • Multiple Bolt Tension and Shear Tests

All Others including

  • High Stress, Low Number of Cycle Dynamic Tests in Tension and Shear,
  • High Number of Cycle Fatigue Tests,
  • Repeated Impact at Incrementing Load Level,
  • Dynamic Tension in Cracked Concrete,
  • Loss of Anchor Preload with Time,
  • Anchors in Eccentrically Loaded Base Plates,
  • Torque vs. Anchor Tension Tests and
  • Corrosion Resistance Tests
